What tools and technologies are needed for an online class?

In order to be successful in your online course, you will need the following:

access to a modern computer system which meets the minimum technical requirements.
an active SCTCC e-mail account.
reliable, high speed Internet access (from home, work, school, or other facility).
a sound card and speakers, or computer headphones (preferred).
media plug-ins (free) for your internet browser to access videos, animations, and audio files.
a current subscription for antivirus software.
A current version of Microsoft Office Home and Student (retail price approximately $147) or the complete Microsoft Office 2007 (special price for SCTCC students with ID - $79.07)

Also, your Internet browser will need to be verified with a System Check to ensure that it will operate correctly for your online course.
