First Aid & CPR
First Aid and CPR for Child Care Providers
This is a general First Aid and CPR course for child care providers and students in the child care programs. Topics covered in this course will include: how to recognize a situation needing emergency care, how to access the EMS system, and how to care for the victim until help arrives. Prevention, medical emergencies and injuries will be the major foc
us of the course with an emphasis on pediatric first aid. Also includes sudden infant death syndrome and shaken baby syndrome.
Basic First Aid and CPR
Topics covered in this course will include: how to recognize a situation needing emergency care, how to access the EMS system, and how to care for the victim until help arrives. Prevention, medical emergencies and injuries will be the major focus of the course. This course covers first aid care and treatment of adults and children and includes CPR and AED.
EMS
First Responder
Students will be enabled to apply the fundamental skills and knowledge required to function as an entry level First Responder. Emphasis will be placed on skills needed for the recognition of, and emergency care of sick or injured people, utilizing basic EMS equipment and assisting Emergency Medical Technicians once they have arrived. This course is designed for non-ambulance personnel such as law enforcement, fire, rescue, DNR, industry, and private citizens who are involved in pre-hospital emergency care and are first on the scene in an emergency.
Emergency Medical Technician
Students will be enabled to apply the fundamental skills and knowledge required to function as an entry level Emergency Medical Technician Basic. Emphasis will be placed on skills needed for the recognition of, and emergency care of sick of injured people, utilizing basic and advanced EMS equipment and assisting Paramedics once they have arrived.
Life Support
Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers
This BLS course is designed for individuals who are health care providers in either the in-hospital or out-of-hospital setting. Topics include adult, child and infant CPR, AED and choking.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support
This course is designed for healthcare providers who direct or participate in the resuscitation of a patient, either in or out of the hospital.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support
PALS is an education program covering the first hour of care for critically ill or injured children according to the AHA 2005 guidelines. The program is designed for physicians, nurses, paramedical, and other health personnel who have interests in or responsibilities for resuscitation of children.
