The SCTCC Student Life and Athletics Department is pleased to announce the hiring of Greg Thorstad as their Head Softball Coach.  Thorstad, who has a Masters of Education in Applied Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota, comes to St. Cloud after spending the past seven years as a volunteer Assistant Softball Coach at Ridgewater Community College.   During his tenure at Ridgewater, the Warriors won 4 MCAC titles, 4 NJCAA Region 13A titles and earned 4 trips to the NJCAA National Championships.

Prior to his experience at Ridgewater, Thorstad was the Head Baseball Coach at North Hennepin Community College and Assistant Baseball Coach at Champlin Park High School.  Thorstad, a native of Danube, MN,  played football and baseball at Hamline University.

Greg is excited about his opportunity at SCTCC and is looking forward to recruiting in the talent rich Central Minnesota area.

The St. Cloud Technical and Community College softball team competes in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference.
