Technical College enables transferable degrees as name, mission change

From SCTimes.com:  When the state board today approves St. Cloud Technical and Community College's mission and name change, it will launch a several-month effort to execute and communicate the switch.

The name on the diplomas and eventually on all the signs and promotional materials will be St. Cloud Technical and Community College. But the bigger picture is that graduates of the newly renamed school will be able to obtain credits and enter programs that will allow them to receive an associate arts degree that will transfer to St. Cloud State University and many other four-year colleges or universities.

"Our strategy now is to get our story out: We are increasing educational attainability by expanding not just in technical programs but academics," President Joyce Helens said.
