SCTCC students proved they were best in the nation at the national SkillsUSA championships in Kansas City, June 23 to 27.
Derek Meehl won for automotive refinishing technology; he is a student in SCTCC's Automotive Collision Technology program.
Grant Feldhege, Neil Molitor, and Tyler Tran competed against 24 other state teams for a gold in engineering. They are Tech High School students who participate in our Discovery Academy dual enrollment program. Their project was part of their coursework in the Project Lead the Way class called Introduction to Engineering Design.
The 48th SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference and Championships showcase more than 5,400 students competing in more than 94 different trade, technical and leadership fields.
