1 - Examine and analyze database solutions for medical software applications to improve clinical and administrative functions.
2 - Identify and evaluate Web technologies on various platforms for medical applications including physician office requirements, emergency department reporting and ancillary departments such as radiology, physical, occupational and speech therapy.
3 - Research, analyze, and distinguish among various programming techniques to implement solutions for integration of patient information in healthcare facilities.
4 - Define basic network concepts and compare technologies used to transfer patient information from disparate healthcare facilities.
5 - Learn and document how interoperability standards aid the exchange of patient information across healthcare facilities.
6 - Define, analyze and implement appropriate security measures for electronic health record applications to ensure data privacy and security.
7 - Incorporate changes from HIPAA legislation and regulations regarding security and integrity of patient data within electronic health record systems.
