Phi Theta Kappa honor society recognizes high-achieving students. On Thursday, April 18, 2013, St. Cloud Technical & Community College (SCTCC) will induct 120 new members into Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the official honor society for community colleges.
Membership in PTK is based on academic achievement, demonstrated leadership, community involvement, and fellowship. The minimum grade point average to be eligible for induction into PTK is 3.5.
“Our Phi Theta Kappa inductees are good students and good citizens. They are passionate about their academics and their service to community,” said Kerby Plante, SCTCC Phi Theta Kappa Advisor. “This year’s PTK inductees have raised money for veterans, provided dental care and accounting services to low-income families, helped set up a small business, and provided more than 100 hours of service to the hospital. They are leaders in many ways.”
