(St. Cloud, MN -- ) St. Cloud Technical & Community College has received an $8,225 grant from U.S. Bank which will be used to help fund the new Veteran's Resource Center on campus.

Mike Markman, Regional President of U.S. Bank, presented the grant to members of the college Thursday afternoon.

The new Veteran's Resource Center will provide veterans, service members, and their families with access to benefits and financial aid assistance, study space, academic advising, and areas to relax and socialize. The center will be located in a building SCTCC recently acquired adjacent to campus (the former Heartland Clinic). Soon the building will be renovated and repurposed to accommodate many student-focused services.

G.I. Jobs magazine recently named U.S. Bank and St. Cloud Technical & Community College to its Military-Friendly Employers® and Military-Friendly Schools® lists, respectively. SCTCC serves more than 250 veterans annually and has one of the highest percentages of veteran students compared to other colleges in Minnesota. Last year, U.S. Bank began providing scholarships to SCTCC veteran students.
