SCTCC was named a Military Friendly school for 2021-2022, meeting all the Military Friendly standards and beyond.
Colleges are rated Military Friendly based on six different categories: academic policies and compliance; admissions and orientation; culture and commitment; financial aid and assistance; graduation and career; and military student support and retention.
SCTCC exceeded all the standards for a Military Friendly school, especially in the academic policies and compliance and admissions and orientation categories. In both those categories, SCTCC exceeded standards by more than 55%. Another category that was notable in exceeding standards was culture and commitment. You can view SCTCC's ratings here.
“SCTCC is honored to be named a Military Friendly school again this year,” said Anita Baugh, the Certifying Official for the GI Bill. “We are proud to see that SCTCC continues to go above and beyond for our military community. It’s an honor to serve this community to help them prepare for their future.”
The Military Friendly program is a standard that measures an organization’s commitment, effort, and success in creating sustainable and meaningful benefit for the military community, which includes active duty, reserve, guard, veterans, and military spouses. The Military Friendly program rates post-secondary institutions to provide individuals the right educational opportunities.
