SCTCC Student Services & Support During COVID-19

What's open and what's closed at SCTCC during the COVID-19 pandemic? To help reduce the spread of COVID-19, not only are students moving to an alternate form of learning, but the support services offices are moving to phone and online appointments. Most staff are working from other locations.

If you haven't gotten specific instructions from either an instructor or staff to come to campus, we ask that you please stay home.

Student Support Services

The on-campus student services and support offices will be closed until further notice, but that doesn't mean the staff isn't here to help. Supports like Academic Advising, the CAS, Accommodations, and more will be able to meet with students and help them out via phone or online meeting using Zoom.

The most important thing to know is that most of the time, you will need to call first to make an appointment. Don't expect to get an answer or help right away - you'll make an appointment with staff at a time that works for both of you.

Many services are available online through eServices, including financial aid, reviewing your degree audit (DARS), and registration. You can view an eServices video tutorial here.   

Center for Academic Success (CAS)/Tutoring

The on-campus CAS office will be closed until further notice, but virtual tutoring is always available. Login to D2L to see options that are available and to schedule tutoring help.  

  • 24/7/365 tutor support in a variety of subjects. SCTCC has 15 hours of tutoring per student, per year, at no cost. You will be able to see how many hours you have left when you logon. 
  • Zoom will be staffed by CAS professional staff and student tutors who are offering individual and group tutoring sessions by appointment. To schedule a tutoring session, please click on the Resources tab on D2L and go to the “CAS” link, or you can go directly to the CAS website.

Remote Library Assistance 

The on-campus Library will be closed until further notice, but there are many services and resources that can be accessed online at  

What's available from the Library? Electronic materials and interlibrary loan services for electronic services are available. Physical materials such as books, magazines, journals, and movies will not be available to check out or for interlibrary loan.

TRIO Support Services 

TRIO participants can expect the same great support and service that TRIO is known for via our virtual office.  

TRIO Virtual Office Hours:
Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.  

  • TRIO Advisors and participants can connect by phone, email, Remind, Starfish, ZOOM, and Skype for Business.

TRIO Remote Tutoring Service
Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm. 

  • Meeting Space will be staffed by TRIO tutors, giving individual and group tutoring sessions by appointment.

Accessibility Services 

The Accessibility Services team remains available, working remotely, to meet with new and currently registered students. You can schedule meetings via Zoom or phone to discuss your access-related needs. 
For students who are registered with Accessibility Services, please check your student email for information that will be coming out to describe access-related changes to our new online model. We also plan to develop a D2L page for office announcements.

Academic Advising 

With summer registration now open and fall registration right around the corner, the Academic Advisors are ready to help you get your access code and go over your academic plan via phone, email, Skype for Business, or ZOOM.

Summer Registration is Open
More information about how COVID-19 will affect summer classes will be available in the coming weeks. At this time, summer registration is still open, but the format of those classes might change. 

Fall Registration is Delayed 

  • April 8thregistration opens for current SCTCC students based on credits earned 
  • April 15thregistration opens for new SCTCC students (by appointment) 
  • April 20th: registration opens for visiting SCTCC students

Career Services 

The 2020 Job Fair may be cancelled, but SCTCC Career Services has many ways to work on your career. You can work on your resume, practice interviewing skills using our Big Interview tool, and job search using our electronic job board. Your STAR ID is the username when creating an account on the job board.  

For those of you who are undecided about your career or major, considering taking a career assessment during this time.

The Campus Life office is available to you in a virtual format, and is more than happy to help keep you connected with SCTCC in every way we can. Financial Services

Most things you need to know your financial aid and account are available to you by logging into eServices and clicking on Financial Aid. The 2020-21 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) can be completed at this page. Please use a browser other than Internet Explorer. 

If you have any questions that can't be answered in eServices, Financial Services can be reached by calling 320-308-5936 or by email at . When possible, we can also make an appointment to chat online via Zoom.

Current Students:  Fall registration for Fall 2020 has been delayed to begin April 8. For the schedule of current student priority registration visit:

New and Transfer Students: Transfer evaluations are still being performed, but expect delays in notification of transfer evaluations completed. Please when meeting with your academic advisor, if you do not see credits you expected to have earned on your Degree Audit Report, feel free to contact us.
