It was a cruel April Fool's Day joke: April 1 rolled around and no SCTCC Job Fair took place.
The SCTCC Job Fair is one of the longest running in the state, with 2020 set to be the 31st annual event where students and SCTCC graduates have a chance to meet with 200 employers at the River's Edge Convention Center in downtown St. Cloud. Because of the COVID-19 Stay at Home order, the 2020 Job Fair was cancelled.
But not completely! While the in-person fair was cancelled, an online version was quick to take its place. On top of moving to a whole new format, SCTCC has a new Career Services Director, Lisa Mohr. She took the idea of a Virtual Job Fair and came up with a 2-week long virtual event that students and employers alike can be happy with.
Prep Week takes place April 27-May 1
- Students can have their resumes reviewed and schedule mock interviews with St. Cloud area employers and hiring managers. Anyone who would like to take part in those can email firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule.
- There is also a Tips and Tricks webinar via Zoom, where employers will discuss best practices for interviews.
Job Fair Week takes place May 4-8
- Tune in for Employer Panels via Zoom. There will be different panels based on what your program/major is, so check out this link for a list of all the panels and links.
- Now's the time to search for jobs! Activate your JobNet account and search using VJF20 for all the jobs submitted for the Job Fair.
Students/alumni who participate in panels and those who login to JobNet during Job Fair Week are all eligible for many drawings for Amazon digital gift cards! Some will be $50 and some will be $25 - make sure to take part to get a chance to win.
