On Thursday, April 27, St. Cloud Technical & Community College President Joyce Helens announced she has accepted the presidency at Great Basin College in Nevada. Her last day at SCTCC will be July 31, 2017.

President Helens started her tenure at SCTCC in 2006, providing the College and St. Cloud community with her leadership for more than 10 years.

“As president of St. Cloud Technical & Community College, Joyce has worked tirelessly to advance student success, build community within the college, promote the economic development of the greater St. Cloud community, develop programs to ensure a skilled workforce, advance the college’s financial sustainability and much, much more,” said Minnesota State Chancellor Steven Rosenstone.

An interim president will be appointed Aug. 1, and a call for nominations and applications has been disseminated to the colleges and universities of Minnesota State.

A search for a permanent president will be initiated in the Fall of 2017 with the goal of a new leader in place for the start of the 2018-19 academic year.
