June 26, 2018

Cyclones Baseball player Matt Quade was named the 2018 Spalding NJCAA DIII Baseball Defensive Player of the Year, which was voted on by the NJCAA DIII Baseball Committee.

Quade is a sophomore from Paynesville with many accomplishments under his belt this year. He was selected to the MCAC Central Division First Team, recipient of the 2018 NJCAA ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove, an SCTCC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and was named to the NJCAA All-Academic Second Team.

“Matt has meant so much to our program over the last two years," says Head Coach Jason Fischer. "He was a leader on and off the field. Matt was a two-time All-Conference, All-State and All-Region performer. Matt served as team captain and was key to the overall success of the program. Matt not only achieved on the field, but he excelled in the classroom.  Matt was named the SCTCC Scholar-Athlete of the year. He will be impossible to replace.”

Congratulations, Matt!
