From Jan. 24 - Feb. 4, 2022, most in-person, lecture-based classes at SCTCC will shift to a fully online format.
Almost 100 students from 7 Colleges along with Numerous Industry Experts, and 1 SCTCC Alumni Keynote Speaker, focused on developing their leadership and business skills at the 2021 Innovation Summit in October.
The Innovation Summit unites students, academics and business leaders from across the state who are passionate about developing innovative solutions to today's problems. Attendees will hear from a keynote speaker, learn from industry experts during InnovationFest and then collaborate in teams to create innovative solutions to real world problems during the Innovation Challenge.
Congratulations to the Officer Team: Cole Killeen, Anna Gieser, Colby Peterson, and Members: Chad Maxwell, Tatiana Washington, Mercedes Wilson, Josh Nestrud, Joe Schreier, and Grace Green challenging themselves to grow professionally.
- The Team of Tatiana, Cole, and Anna took 3rd Place in the Case Challenge event with their genius idea on Safe Sky’s Airline against 23 other teams.
- Team Josh, Chad, and Grace presented on their creative company idea Sanitizing Service via sprinkler systems.
- The Team of Joe, Colby, and Mercedes shared their inventive idea of Safe Fitness Gym.
DECA members were inspired by Jeannette Grace, the founder of Expressive Communication Consulting and Training and the author of G-Factor. Grace is also an alum of SCTCC’s Marketing Sales Management program and shared her passion for business and DECA with the students. They also gained advise from industry experts and competed in a team case study challenge to advance their Entrepreneurship, Marketing, and Finance skills.
