St. Cloud Technical & Community College students Randy Schunk and Casey Warner participated and placed in the SkillsUSA Championships that were held in June in Kentucky.

The SkillsUSA competition features more than 6,000 career and technical education students in hands-on competitions. There are 100 different trade-, technical- and leadership-field contests that are run with the help of industry experts. Competitions begin locally and continue through state and national levels.

Warner placed second in the CNC Technician category. Warner is currently a second year student in the Machine Tool program at SCTCC and works at Talon in Sauk Rapids as a Machinist.

Schunk placed third in the HVAC/R category. He graduated spring 2016 from the Commercial Heating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration program at SCTCC and is working for Bullet Proof Mechanical in Willmar.
