Accounting is one of the nations fastest growing professions and is often described as the "language of business". Business managers, stockholders, potential investors, creditors, government agencies and labor groups all depend on accountants for financial data and its interpretation . Accountants are also involved in the preparation of tax returns, the audits of financial data, the design and implementation of accounting information systems, and various other special projects and consulting involving financial data. The increasing complexity of business operations, the need to control costs and improve efficiency, and the constantly changing tax laws all help maintain the growing demand for accountants. A knowledge of accounting is useful in all types of business careers.
The accounting program provides the foundation for a wide variety of professional business opportunities. As a program, we strive to prepare each student to be a well rounded accounting professional. We work hard to ensure our program provides a "hands on" learning experience.
