The growing demand to transport products quickly by trucks has created an increasing need for skilled medium/heavy truck technicians. Students will perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul on medium/heavy duty trucks and tractor/trailer vehicles. The Medium/Heavy Truck Program is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills needed for an entry-level technician position in the trucking industry.
Students selecting this program will develop and practice their skills in a well-equipped shop and study challenging areas such as truck computers, diesel engines, electrical systems, suspension, air-brakes, and power train. Instruction is also available in related truck areas such as welding, transport refrigeration, automatic transmissions, and body repair.
St. Cloud Technical and Community College's Medium/Heavy Truck Technician Program is ASE Certified and graduates are prepared for the Automotive Service Excellence examinations. The program is certified by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation, Inc. (NATEF).
