Students MUST be a Current Student (applied and accepted to SCTCC).
Students can apply with pre-requisites in-progress, MUST be complete prior to the start of the program. Priority will be given to students with all pre-requisites complete at the time of application.
Each prerequisite and General Education course may be taken 3 times.
Consult with an advisor about the impact of repeated courses.
The Surgical Technology program is a 2.5 semester program that begins each fall semester (fall semester, spring semester & summer term).
Twenty-four students are accepted each fall semester.
The Surgical Technology program is a full-time program only.
Once accepted to the program, classes are all held on-campus or at Clinical sites.

Classes are scheduled Monday through Friday approximately 8AM – 3PM.
Clinical sites include two ten-week rotations at St. Cloud facilities (St. Cloud Hospital and Surgery Center, St. Cloud Surgical Center, and VA Medical Center). Also included are Willmar Hospital and Surgical Center, Brainerd Hospital and Surgical Center, Buffalo Hospital, Alexandria Hospital, Fairview Princeton Hospital, and Little Falls Hospital.
The Surgical Technology Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARC/STSA).
