Students can apply with prerequisite courses in progress, MUST be complete prior to the start of the program. Priority will be given to students with all prerequisites complete at the time of application.
Students MUST be in Good Academic Standing at SCTCC at time of application (not on academic warning or academic probation).
Each prerequisite and General Education course may be taken 3 times.
Consult with an advisor about the impact of repeated courses.
The full-time program is 2-semesters that begins each Fall Semester & Spring Semester.
The part-time program is 4-semesters that begins each Fall Semester & Spring semester.
The full-time P.N. program accepts 50 students each fall semester & each spring semester.
The part-time P.N. program accepts 8 students each fall semester & each spring semester.
The full-time and part-time P.N. application window is open December 1st through February 1st (for Fall Semester/August start date)

Are any of the PN courses offered online?
Once accepted to the program, classes are all held on campus or at Clinical sites.
The full-time P.N. is Monday –Friday with clinical rotation scheduled on Thursday & Friday. The part-time P.N. is Monday & Tuesday the first semester, additional days second
semester for clinical rotation. SUBJECT TO CHANGE!
Clinical sites include: St. Cloud Hospital, VA Medical Center, Assumption, St. Benedicts Ctr., Country Manor, Good Shepherd Community, Health Partners, CentraCare Health Plaza. Currently the farthest travel time from SCTCC is about 20 miles.
Once accepted and program begins, students CANNOT switch sections going from P/T to F/T or from F/T to P/T program options.

Nursing ATI TEAS Exam FAQs
- The ATI TEAS test is offered through the SCTCC testing center. You simply register to take the test yourself (see registration information below)
- During COVID the test is completed by distance through proctoring, once we are able, the test will be given in person in the testing center at SCTCC. There will still be the option to test by distance in the future however.
- You ATI TEAS testing must be completed by the end of the application period.
- You register for the test at the following website, www.atitesting.com
- Create or log-in to student account at atitesting.com
- Click “Online Store” on the upper right hand corner of the screen
- Select “Register for… TEAS” on the left hand side of the screen
- Underneath “About the TEAS,” select “Register Now”
- On the “TEAS Registration” tab, choose “Online”
- For “TEAS Proctor – Program type” select “Institution Remote Proctor – Nursing”
- Select date range (usually a one month range works the best)
- For “State,” choose “MN”
- Select “St Cloud Tech and CC PN” on the drop down menu for “Institution”
- Click the “Search” button
Students can take the ATI TEAS test at a different location but scores must be submitted by the last date of the application cycle to be considered for acceptance to the program. NOTE: you will need to contact ATI TEAS at www.atitesting.com and request an official transcript be sent to SCTCC. There is a cost for this service.
ATI TEAS test scores are good for three years at time of application. If, when applying, it has been more than three years, you will need to take the ATI TEAS test again.
Students can take the ATI TEAS exam up to three times per calendar year.
- TEAS exam results of 52.0 or higher are acceptable for the PN program.
- TEAS exam results of 56.0 or higher are acceptable for the ADN program.

Students have the option to submit a previous ATI TEAS Exam score if they have already completed the TEAS Exam within the last three years of time of application. The applicant can use that score with their application, or choose to retake the TEAS Exam with submitting a previous score (the higher of the two will be considered).
The ATI TEAS exam is comprised of 170 questions set up in multiple choice format with four-option answers. Questions are designed to test the basic academic skills you will need to perform in class in the four (4) areas of:
- Reading (53 questions/64minutes)
- Math (36 questions/54minutes)
- Science (53 questions/63minutes)
- English and Language Usage (28 questions/28 minutes) Total of 209 minutes (3 hours 48 minutes)
Upon completion of the ATI TEAS exam, your test will be scored immediately, allowing you to view your ATI TEAS score report at that time.
