The Military Times Best for Vets distinction recognizes St. Cloud Technical & Community College for its commitment to providing opportunities to America’s veterans. SCTCC ranks #6 in the national survey.
The survey focused on benefits coverage, support services and widely available statistical measures when conducting and scoring the Best for Vets: Career & Technical Colleges survey, a highly respected, nearly 110-question analysis of a college’s efforts to provide veterans an environment for success.
G.I. Jobs, the premier magazine for military personnel transitioning into civilian life, has awarded St. Cloud Technical & Community College the designation of Military Friendly School® for the third year in a row.
The 2014 Military Friendly Schools list honors the top 15 percent of colleges, universities, and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members and veterans as students. The list was compiled through extensive research and a data driven survey of more than 12,000 schools nationwide.
This fall, approximately 200 veterans are attending St. Cloud Technical & Community College.

As a veteran, you may be able to receive certain educational benefits. We can help connect veterans, service members, and their families to the benefits and resources available to help you succeed in college.
New community vets center to be named Homefront Resource Center
The St. Cloud Times and a steering committee that includes the college collaborated to allow Times readers to vote on 10 names for the new center. Voting was conducted through the Times' website.
The overwhelming winner was Homefront Resource Center, which had 156 votes. The next closest name was Yellow Ribbon Resource Center, which got 74 votes.
The other eight names under consideration each got 23 votes or fewer.
The college accepted nominations for potential names in May and narrowed a list of 43 to 10. Voting on those 10 names has been ongoing for the last few weeks.
The new veterans' center will be in the former CentraCare Heartland building.
