Why Choose This Program

A Coaching certificate from SCTCC preps future coaches in coaching styles and methods and gets them ready for the mental aspect of the position as well as sports.

The classes cover preventing and caring for athletic injuries, handling emergencies, and coaching and training techniques for various sports: football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, and softball.

This certificate meets the requirements of the Minnesota State High School League and Minnesota Statute 122A.33, which dictates the minimum coaching education necessary to be a head coach at the high school level. The Coaching Certificate also meets requirements and recommendations of many school districts and youth sports organizations to coach at any level.

The program is taught by coaches who have all taken their teams to national tournaments and who have a combined 45 years of coaching experience.
