Student Success Week is all about having fun while you learn. Participate in our Cyclones Trivia Challenge during Student Success Week and show off your knowledge on the intersection of pop culture and college to potentially win some SCTCC swag!

Yoga by the Donut with Kate Wallace
Main Entrance Lawn at 9-9:45 a.m. (or Room 1-177 if poor weather)

Start Student Success Week off right with a Monday morning yoga stretch. Come prepared to do about 20-30 minutes of beginners to intermediate yoga. All levels are WELCOME! Remember - even if you think you can't do yoga, you can. It's never about the full pose, just about the breath and a stretch! Dress in comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat or towel. There will be a few mats available.


Donuts by the Donut with Campus Life
Main Entrance at 9-10 a.m. (or until supplies last)

Pick up a donut for a breakfast snack on your way to Yoga by the Donut or on the way to class! Learn about what else you can do during Success Week.

World Languages – ASL with Avery Cook & Nathan Jacobson

“Oh wow!  I would love to learn ASL, but I have no idea where to start!”

Does that sound like you? Well pop on by to learn some American Sign Language Basics and some information about Deaf Culture in the first part of our World Languages Series. In any position where you will work with people (nursing, automotive, food service, business, etc.) you will meet a Deaf person and knowing the basics in their language and about their culture will really put you a step ahead!

Attention! Guide to Staying Focused and Completing Tasks with Jeanna Franklin

Learn focus and concentration strategies to help you maintain attention, complete tasks, and be successful!

In this session, you will have a chance to put these strategies into action, so come prepared with a list of tasks you need to complete (optional but encouraged)! We will also learn and practice a relaxation technique that can be used to de-stress.

If you think that the library is just  place filled with dusty books and crabby old ladies who shush you - then you need to visit our library!

Sure, we have books. We also have access to over 400,000 digital articles, book chapters, full books, and many more items. We will show you the cheat codes for finding information that is Current, Relevant, Authoritative, Accurate, and meets your Purpose. (Yep, it's the CRAAP test!) A world of information is out there, and using the tools and resources of the library will help you to build your skills to ensure you find the best stuff for yourself.

Need a study room? We have those! Need a DVD player? We have those? Need a puzzle to distract you from a tough school assignment? We have those too! We are a full service information facility, here for you.
